Portrait Studio Information

The Images and Events Portrait Studio is a state-of-the-art facility located in the South Hill Mall. After our first year of taking Santa Photos at the South Hill Mall, we decided to move our studio to a new home. Our goal was simple; we wanted to offer professional photos and make the portrait process simple and the price affordable.

We discovered that existing professional studios produced family portraits that were so expensive that families would wait four to eight years between portraits. Studios that were geared toward children should focus more on the quality of their photos, and less time selling their customers enlargements, memberships, and into portrait clubs.

Location   Our studio is located in the South Hill Mall accross from Office Max and adjacent to the kid's play area. There are no pull-down screens with generic scenery or tiny areas for your kids to pose. We use professional canvas muslins in a 400 square foot studio covered in dark walnut flooring. There is plenty of room for large families and groups to gather and young children to be mobile and be comfortable.

Experience   Photography involves more than clicking a remote for a camera attached to a tripod. Instead, enjoy a photographer that exerts effort getting the best angles as he actually holds the camera. Lazy practices and easier methods should not be accepted when it comes to interacting with children and adults. Trusting your portraits to a "cookie cutter" method and to people with little to no expertise and talent, creates average portraits.

Process   Portrait sessions are made with an advance reservation. After images are taken, they can be immediately viewed on one of our wireless touch screens. We show you all the pictures taken and not just a chosen few. Once your favorites are selected, we produce the portraits in-studio while you wait. As your order is produced, we will show you complimentary options or enhancements for the photos as we ready the portraits for print. Enhancements might include making a collage, converting images to black and white, color toning, or retouching images.
